If your son/daughter is in Year 6, you can apply for a place at secondary school, submitting your application by the deadline of 31 October.

If you live in Lincolnshire you can apply via https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/school-admissions/apply-school/3

If you live in North Lincolnshire you can apply via https://www.northlincs.gov.uk/schools-libraries-and-learning/schools-colleges-and-further-education/apply-for-a-school-place/

2) I live close to Kirton Academy. Does my child automatically get a place at your school?

Even if you live in catchment, you must still apply for a place. Living in close proximity to any school does not guarantee a place there unless you have submitted an application form, as mentioned above. If you do not apply to any school by 31 October, you will be allocated a place at any school in the local authority which has space at that time.

3) How can I come to visit your school?

Every year, we host an open evenings we also actively support you to have a personal tour of the school, to do this contact enquiries@kirtonacademy.co.uk or call 01652 648276 to book a date and time.

4) How accessible is Kirton Academy?

We have two blocks with upper floors, one which can be accessed by lift. We are in the process of making adaptations to the school to make it more accessible to all students.

5) My child has an additional need. How do I find out if your school is right for them?

Our dedicated SEND team work hard to help children with additional needs to get the support they need when they come up to secondary school, whether this is in helping them get to lessons, giving extra support during lessons or offering a quiet and safe space when a child may need time out of lessons. The SEND team are always happy to talk to families about their child’s individual needs and can offer one-to-one tours, as well as extra transition days once your child has accepted a place with us. Please contact our SEND team directly via SEND@kirtonacademy.co.uk if you have further questions.

6) How can my child get to school?

Many of our students walk or cycle to school. However, there are also several buses which serve the local surrounding villages and towns. To find out more about bus services and how to apply for a place on the bus, please see our Transport page. Please note if you live out of catchment area and require bus travel there is a cost which is currently £60 per month, this is reviewed annually.
