Building works at Kirton Academy

6th February 2025

Re: Building works at Kirton Academy

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to inform you about upcoming building works at the school, which will commence during the February half-term. These improvements will transform our facilities and provide a superb educational environment for your child.

To ensure the safety of students and staff, a secure site enclosure will be installed to the side of the main car park. Students will still be able to use the pedestrian walkway to enter the school safely. Additionally, a temporary road will be constructed along the side of the playground, across the field, and behind the science building to allow work access. This area will be securely fenced off to prevent student access.

As part of the project, scaffolding will be erected to facilitate roof work, which means the main quad will be closed to students. The work will progress in phases, starting with the science labs, followed by the food technology room, the changing rooms, and finally the canteen area. This week, we have held assemblies to inform students about the works and the measures in place to ensure their safety. While there will be some room changes, we are committed to minimising disruption to lessons as much as possible.

I will keep you updated as the project progresses and encourage you to follow our social media channels, where we will share key developments.

This important project has been made possible thanks to the support of the Lincolnshire Gateway Academy Trust, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period of improvement.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at enquiries@kirtonacademy.co.uk

Yours sincerely

Mrs E Ricketts
Principal
