Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust is the Admissions Authority for Kirton Academy.

Kirton Academy, as a non-selective and inclusive Academy, welcomes applications from all parents and carers for children regardless of their aptitude or ability. The Board of Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust is the Admissions Authority with the Local Governing Body responsible for the administration of the admissions arrangements.

The Board remains responsible for any admissions appeals.

New Intake Applications — Year 7 September 2026

Applications into Year 7 in September 2026 is coordinated by Lincolnshire County Council. Applications for first entry to Year 7 need to be made to the child's home local authority. The Academy is unable to accept direct applications into this year group until the year group becomes on roll on 1 September 2026, which at this point becomes an in-year admission.

Waiting List

A waiting list for new intake students is held until 31 December and after this point no waiting lists are held.

Admission Appeal

If your application has been refused you have the right to appeal against this decision to an Independent Appeals Panel.

Secondary schools

National offer day 2 March 2026

Deadline for an appeal to be received Noon 16 April 2026

Where the preference was refused on the National Offer Day of 2 March 2026, any submitted appeal by the closing date of 16 April 2026 will be heard first, by the Independent Appeals Panel when reasonably practicable. We will hear appeals made after the deadline but they may not be heard with other submitted appeals for the academy.

In Year Applications

North Lincolnshire Council coordinate all in year applications for Kirton Academy. Applications can be made via their website https://www.northlincs.gov.uk/schools-libraries-and-learning/schools-colleges-and-further-education/apply-for-a-school-place/. If you require a paper copy of the admissions application form, please contact 01724 297000 or admissionstoschool@northlincs.gov.uk.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in writing within 15 school days from the date the Academy received your application.

Applications will be accepted if there is space in the year group applied for. The Academy will follow the oversubscription criteria detailed in the Admissions Policy if there are more applications than there are places in a year group.
